Saturday saw us make the journey to face Bearsted FC in the league, after fighting back to progress to the next round of the FA Vase last weekend, hopes were high for a good day on the road.

The first half we started very brightly with Britnell testing the keeper early on, while Atkins had his shooting boots on as he hit a half volley from the edge of the area, which the keeper parried out but the ball rolled to safety. Most of the 1st half was spent in the Bears half, Chan Quan hit a freekick over the bar, while a number of corners came to nothing. With the half coming to a close the Bears had a corner which went across the box and found an unmarked man at the back post to head home.

The 2nd half started with the Bears seeing more of possession while we was still coming to terms with being 1 – 0 down after the one sided first half. Unfortunately as the weather took a turn for the worse, so did our afternoon when the Bears got their 2nd goals of the afternoon.

We will be looking to bounce straight back when we face Crowborough on Wednesday night at the ‘EPA’
