Becks came away with a hard fought point from Saturday’s 2-2 Southern Counties East League draw against Deal Town at the Charles Ground.
NOT MUCH TO SHOUT ABOUT
Neither of the two sides have had much to shout about recently: Deal, without a win in their last six outings, and Becks with just a solitary win in their last five. The pre-match stats seemed to suggest the likely outcome would be a draw and that’s exactly how it turned out.
WARREN GRABS A LATE ONE
Becks did manage to get their noses in front thanks to a 24th minute goal from leading marksman Marvin Alobiuso. It was a lead Becks protected until Steve O’Brien brought the scores level at 1-1 in the 66th minute. This was the start of a rocky few minutes for Becks – four minutes later Jack Paxman edged the home side in front and just as it was beginning to look as though it would be enough for the seasiders to end a recent run of three heavy defeats, Becks defender Frankie Warren popped up to snatch a point for Becks in the dying minutes of the game.
