EARLY BIRDS !!

It's an early start for Becks - the kick off time for Saturday's game against Lordswood has been brought forward to 2.00pm due to essential maintenance work at Eden Park Avenue.

Becks won't need any wake-up call to appreciate that a least on paper Saturday's game does not look as difficult as the two games that follow.

Saturday's visitors, Lordswood,  are having a 'annus horribilis' season of some monumental proportions. Eleven league defeats on the bounce, the latest being a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Erith Town (who Becks beat twice recently in the League Cup), and an alarming goal difference of minus 21. It doesn't make very pretty reading for the Kent League's beleaguered bottom club.

If Becks manage to collect the anticipated three points from  Saturday's game, then they face two tough encounters. Firstly, they start February with a Tuesday night (in London Senior Cup) trip to Ryman League Premier Division Harrow Borough with the tempting prospect that a win provides a home tie against either AFC Wimbledon or Tooting & Mitcham. Then it's a trip to the coast to face promotion chasing, and in form, Herne Bay. With Becks slowly returning to form - unbeaten so far in 2010 - the outlook for both games looks a lot brighter than it did a month or so ago.
