Both sides in Saturday’s Southern Counties East League match at Greatness Park were in search of points for very different reasons. Becks hosts, Sevenoaks Town, still have justifiable aspirations of playing Ryman League football next season. Saturday’s three points kept them in third place and kept the pressure on front runners Ashford Town and Crowborough Athletic. For Becks, the afternoon was all about trying to extend their two-match winning run and ease their relegation worries.
A BRIEF LEAD
Hassan Jalloh gave Becks a brief lead in the fifteenth minute, but was pegged back a minute later by a goal from Byron Walker. Becks had their fair share of possession up until the break.
Whereas Becks were in the ascendancy during the first period, the home side had control of the second. Further goals from Chris Edwards in the 64th minute and Jack Richards in the 78th minute kept Becks hosts firmly on the promotion trail.
